Genreal Information on Registration

Please note:
Registration is only good through Dec. 31, 2007;
after that all brokers will need to
be licensed starting Jan 1, 2008.

PRE-LICENSE EDUCATION:
Each new and current mortgage broker must have completed the 40 hours of pre-license course work and pass the state examination before January 1, 2009. The Colorado Educational requirements for mortgage broker licensing are as follows:
 
State & Federal Laws and Regulations - 19.5 Hours
Mortgage Brokerage 101 - 16 Hours
Business & Trade Practices - 4.5 Hours

Don't Miss the Email!

When your registration has been approved by the Division of Real Estate, you will receive your registration number via email. The email will come from:

real-estate@dora.state.co.us

The letter will congratulate you for registering and then provide a number. Make sure you print this out as that is the only verification you will receive from the State.

Exemption Letters are available!

The DRE is now offering exemption letters to companies that are FHA exempt or that meet one of the other exemptions.

Written request for exemption. Please include the following:

An explanation for the exemption
State how employees are paid (W-2 or 1099)
Provide all supporting documentation
Provide the Division with a list of all exempt individuals in the company
   The Division requires a list to be maintained for future verification
Please provide the name and contact information of the person who will maintain this information for the company

Mail the request signed by an authorized officer or employee of the company to:
